Propeller Guards

You Can Have Peace of Mind When You Fit a Propeller Guard!

Why You Should Fit a Propeller Guard

Propeller guards are designed and fitted for various reasons, but the most important reason is safety: Safety to the operator, the occupants, marine life, the environment, and the motor itself. Peter Hallett has been designing and manufacturing propeller guards for over 35 years and is committed to safety. Midcoast Marine International are specialists in the design, manufacturing, and fitting of various propeller guards. The application will determine the design of the propeller guard, i.e., recreational, surf rescue, military, and swift water.

With Workplace Health and Safety and Duty of Care at the forefront in the event of an injury, a Propeller Guard will ensure that you are as safe as you can be. Being proactive by fitting a propeller guard is better than being reactive after the fact and the legal implications that will follow.

When selecting and fitting a propeller guard, ensure the wide-open throttle RPM range is to the manufacturer’s specifications for that motor. Re-pitching or cupping of the propeller may be required to achieve optimum performance. Operating in the correct RPM range is vital to ensure optimum performance and safety.
