Surf Rescue Guards

When safety is a passion, then designing is made that much easier. With over 28 years of being actively involved in Surf Life Saving, Peter Hallett has devoted his life to the designing and development of propeller guards for use on Surf Rescue motors.

Arguably, Peter has done more testing than anyone else in Australia. As a result, the latest Midcoast Marine surf rescue propeller guard is the MCM nozzle guard.

The ring section is CNC machined for perfect accuracy, the vanes are laser cut to 0.10mm tolerance, and the fabrication is in a meticulously designed jig for continuous accuracy when welding. After final inspection the MCM Nozzle guard is eletropolished. The MCM Nozzle guard was designed specifically for surf rescue operations 3 years ago.

At the recent Australian inflatable rescue championships, every boat in the semi’s and finals had an MCM nozzle guard fitted. The MCM nozzle guard is constructed from the highest quality certified 316L stainless steel, is designed to withstand the harshest Australian surf conditions and is supplied with a metal drilling template, Stainless steel attaching bolts and comphensive fitting instructions. The Midcoast Marine nozzle guards are designed to fit Tohatsu, Mercury (Japan) Mariner (Japan) and Yamaha outboard motors. Development is commencing on the Bombardier (BRP - Evinrude) and suzuki outboard motors for surf rescue use.

The MCM nozzle guards have been fitted to surf rescue motors in Australia, Japan, L.A County Life guard service UK and Denmark.
